چکیده
Cumulative risk of all-site cancer (ICD-10: C00–C96) incidence to age 69 years was calculated with data from Cancer Incidence in Five Continents Vol. VIII. Cumulative risk is defined as the probability that an individual will develop the disease in question during a certain age span, in the absence of other competing causes of death. Twenty-two registries (and ethnic groups) were selected, for which background information is shown in Table 1. Comparisons of the cumulative risk of all-site cancer incidence among these populations are shown in Fig. 1. The USA-black in SEER (Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results) group showed the highest cancer risk in males, while Denmark had the highest risk in females. Chinese immigrants living in Los Angeles (LA), USA showed the lowest cancer risk in both males and females. Japanese immigrants in the USA (i.e. LA and Hawaii), as

Background and Objective: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women worldwide. This study was conducted to analyze the factors related to survival of patients with breast cancer using two models of Cox proportional specific-cause and sub-distribution models (direct modeling of cumulative incidence). These patients were at the competitive risk of death from breast cancer and also ...
متن کاملOesophageal and gastric cardia adenocarcinomas: analysis of regional variation using the Cancer Incidence in Five Continents database.
BACKGROUND Adenocarcinomas of the oesophagus and proximal stomach are the most rapidly increasing malignancies in some countries; however, there are no comparative studies on global disease incidence, and the relationships between these two malignancies are undefined. METHODS We evaluated the cumulative rates and age-specific incidence rates per 100 000 population for adenocarcinomas of the o...
